UGI celebrated Teej with glee and euphoria

Teej is celebrated to mark the bounty of nature, arrival of rain and greenery surrounded by wonderful social activities. Hariyali Teej gets its name from the abundance of greenery we see in nature after the rains. It is meant to symbolise the richness and contentment of a happily married life. Universal Group of institutions celebrated Teej with glee and euphoria. An array of fun-filled activities was planned in such a manner that students and faculty feel refreshed after lockdown. The verve and vivacity exhibited by students in folk songs, folk dance, mehndi and nail art to enhance the spirit of the festival.All the faculty members & Students were seen in green colour traditional dresses. The swings in college were decorated beautifully with marigold flowers. On this special day, Dr. Kompal Wadhawan, Principal Universal College of Education talked about the importance of the day and mentioned that Teej is primarily a festival celebrated by girls and women with songs and dances mainly in the northern and western parts of India. A Giddha performance was also given by girls. Hon'ble Chairman, UGI, Dr. Gurpreet Singh gave his warm wishes on this special occasion, He stressed on the need to remain in touch with our folk culture and to celebrate a festival is the best way to preserve it.
