FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME IN UNIVERSAL GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS, BALLOPUR
A Faculty Development Programme( FDP) is designed to train and develop professionals in teaching profession so that they can act as resource persons in guiding and motivating young persons.FDP main endeavour is to contribute to the professional development of teachers currently working in different institutions.Such programmes are especially suitable for educators who have not had enough opportunities to equip themselves with innovative pedagogical tools and cutting edge research method.The universal Group of Institutions (UGI) authorities took the initiative to provide a plateform to enhance the teaching skills,improving ones classroom delivery both as a teacher and trainer and enhancing abilities for conducting a meaningful research. The each FDP session was of three hours where faculty members from Engineering College, Polytechnic, Education College and Arts and Commerce College participated. The FDP continued for two weeks (30.12.2014-09.01.2015).
The FDPs provided inputs on process and practice of entrepreneurship development, communication and inter-personal skills, creativity, problem solving, time management, motivation, training, and inputs on resource and knowledge industries. The training methodology included power point presentations, case studies, group discussion, games and simulation exercise and classroom lectures.
Looking into the dire need for improving the results of students and a long term goal to build the UGI brand the program was initiated.The FDP was inaugurated by Dr. Rachit Garg Director of Universal institute of engineering and Technology and ended with a vote of thanks by worthy Chairman Dr. Gurpreet Singh,who always encourages ,inspire to perform better
