Mechanical Department organised a Technical Guest Lecture on "System Modeling and Control"

A "Technical Guest Lecture" was organised for the students of Mechanical Engineering on 23/09/2015 from 10:00 – 12:00 hrs at Seminar Hall, UIET, Lalru. A. P. Singh, Assistant Professor, University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the resource person. The programme commenced with the welcome address given byEr. Munish Kainth, COD, Mechanical Engineering Department. After that the Resource Person gave her presentation on the topic "System Modeling and Control". Firstly, Dr. Singh enlightened the basics of control systems to the students. He described the role of modelling and control at industrial level and also the need of control system for effective execution of various manufacturing processes. After that he explained the job of a control engineer to analyze existing systems, and to design new systems to meet specific needs. Sometimes new systems need to be designed, but more frequently a controller unit needs to be designed to improve the performance of existing systems. Students were also get knowledge about different types of control systems, which are usually adopted in various fields like manufacturing, air conditioning, missile launchers etc. The students found the session to be highly informative and useful. The students got motivated through this programme. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Er. Sandeep Singh Sangwan, HOD, Mechanical Engineering Department.
