Civil department of UPC had organized a guest lecture on “Importance of Civil Engineering” for the students of diploma Civil Engineering, Lalru. The speaker for the lecture was Er. Gulzar, who is presently working with Universal Institute of Engineering & Technology as an Assistant Professor. In his lecture he discussed about civil engineering, different fields of civil engineering, scope of civil engineering, benefits of civil engineering. He also introduced the participants to some live projects and challenges in the construction field. Processes that are currently being used for constructing buildings, roads, bridges, tunnels etc. were explained in the lecture. The student learnt about aspects like disciplines in civil engineering, detail information about different civil engineering fields. It was learning and interactive session for the students where he answered all the queries put by the students to their full satisfaction.
