Applied Science Deptt. of UIET, organized National Science Day On 8th March 2016

On 8th March 2016, Applied Science Department of Universal Institute of Engineering and Technology, organized National Science Day in the seminar hall at 2:00 pm. The objective of the event was to trigger the creativity in the young minds and aid them in developing a scientific temper. Paper Reading competition, Poster making competition and a skit on the Global Warming were the main attractions of the event. All the H.O.Ds of UIET along with their faculty members were present there. Mr. Sandeep Sangwan, H.O.D Mechanical Engineering; Mr. Prabhat Singh, H.O.D Electrical Engineering and Ms. Priyanka Mehta, H.O.D Computer Science Engineering were the judges of the event.

The event took off with Paper Reading competition on the topic Recent effects and future promises of Science in our society. The students talked about the efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. In Poster making competition students prepared colourful and knowledgeable posters with innovative ideas to impart scientific knowledge. A skit on the issue of Global warming was prepared by the B.Tech 1st year students. Arnav CE 1st year and Vikas Thappa ME 1st year grabbed 1st and 2nd position respectively in the paper reading competition. Simran Kumari CSE 1st year and Rajinder Kumar ME 1st year grabbed 1st and 2nd position in the poster making competition. As an outcome, the students came to know about various developments in the field of Science and Technology and major threats to it. The event spread a message about the significance of scientific applications and implementation of new technologies for the development of society.
