UIN organised a Awarenes Programme on "WORLD LEPORASY DAY"

Leprosy, also known as Hansen’s disease, is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae. The disease mainly affects the skin, the peripheral nerves, mucosal surfaces of the upper respiratory tract and the eyes. Leprosy is known to occur at all ages ranging from early infancy to very old age. Leprosy is curable and early treatment averts most disabilities. Awareness programme was organized by Universal Institute of Nursing at Malak Pur village under the guidance of Mrs Samta Rani (Principal )and Ms Bhupendera (Clinical Instructor). This awareness programme was organized on Laprosy among the people of Malakpur village. It’s another intention was to create awareness among the villagers about this disease. AV Aid were prepared by students on leprosy, its causes,Symptoms & prevention for maximum benefit to villagers. Sarpanch Mrs Karnail Kaur had consented for the Programme, considering the benefit of their villagers. Other panchayat members were also present at that time of event. All the students and our faculty contributed enthusiastically for this awareness programme. All the villagers were happy and satisfied with the health teachings and information. Sarpanch of village conveyed her thanks & gratitude verbally. Recognizing the need particularly amongst the poorer sections of society in the areas where people have inadequate knowledge about their health, Universal Institute of Nursing initiative for the well-being of people by holding such health education programme.
