Universal Institute of Nursing Organised a Awareness Rally on Dengue

A rally was conducted about dengue and chikunguniya prevention and awareness by Universal Institute of Nursing in collaboration with CHC lalru. Chikungunya and dengue are viruses most commonly transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes.Chikungunya begins as an acute febrile illness. Disease causes polyarthralgia; pain can be severe. Other common symptoms include headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, and rash. Dengue is an acute febrile illness that can vary in severity over a 5–7 day period.
Recognizing warning signs for severe dengue and providing appropriate medical management can prevent morbidity and death. The main motto of rally was to provide health education by students to the community people. Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Chairman,UGI provided awareness among rural community, so that it enhances the prevention of dengue and chikunguniya and may contribute to elimination ofthese diseases. Further he told everyone to use preventions to be safe.
