UGI celebrated "National Mathematics Day" on 7th and 8th January 2019

Universal Group of Institutions, Lalru celebrated "National Mathematics Day" on 7 th and 8 th January 2019 in the campus. This day is being celebrated in the remembrance of the great mathematician A.K. Ramanujan Day one events related to mathematics such as poster making, exhibition, model and maths quiz was being organised. Students from various schools and college took participate in this event. This day became more valuable when Hon’ble Chairman (Dr.) Gurpreet Singh delivered his words of wisdom among all students. He talked about the contemporary challenges of students and shared solutions for the same too. Day 2- Professor (Dr.) A.K. Aggarwal (Retired Professor, Punjab University Chandigarh) was chief guest cum speaker of the day. He delivered his lecture on the life and works of great mathematician Sir Ramanujan. The major concern of his lecture was futuristic approach and demand of mathematics.
In the closing of the event prize distributed to the winners of the day one events by the chief Guest Hon'ble Chairman (Dr.) Gurpreet Singh. Whereas on 08.02.2019, Further, this mathematics day was presented by Research and Placement Cell UGI in cooperation with the department of Applied Sciences and Humanities (UPC and UIET). In addition, PSCST (Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh) sponsored this two days event. Finally the event was summed up by (Ms.) Prabhjot Kaur (Director Research and Placement) thanked to all who became part and parcel of this event.
