UGI organised an "Induction and Orientation program" from 1st to 4th October 2021 for the students

The start of college life is a rite of passage and a very exciting time for new students. At the same time, the transition to college can be dis-orienting, where the students move away from the routine of school life and home and enter a new chapter in their life. The Universal Group of Institutions recognize the challenges faced by the students and thus organized a Welcome and Orientation Event for the newcomers.
The program focussed on introducing the institute to the new students and to give them a chance to understand how things work in their new college. The program provided students with information about the campus, the academia, different activities as well as the multitude of facilities available.
Student Induction (SIP) cum Orienatation Programme based on Universal Human Values (UHV) was inaugurated by Dr.Gurpreet Singh, Chairman Universal Group of Institutions. The students were welcomed to the campus and their registration was done. The program started with welcome speech for the students by Dr. Surina Sharma (Head, Department of Education). The speech was followed by lighting of lamps by Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Hon'ble Chairman, UGI, Dr. SK Bawa, Campus Director, UGI, Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, Director Academics, and Principals/Deans of respective colleges. After lighting of lamps Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, Director Academics, introduced the new students with their college using a vibrant powerpoint presentation. She emphasized on ethical values. The students learned about the variety of courses offered by Universal Group of Institutions as well as got an overview of the academic journey they are beginning. The students were then introduced to the faculty members with the help of powerpoint slides by the Principals of respective colleges. The students were then addressed by Dr. Vikas Sharma, Dean of student welfare, who explained to the students the different amenities available to them. He also made the students aware of their responsibilities towards their studies as well as their behavioural conduct in the campus and stressed on the necessity of discipline for success in life.
The address was followed by speech from Mr. Vikram from Accounts Department, who explained the process of fee payment and other financial transactions to the students. The session was followed by a rousing speech from Dr. SK Bawa, Campus Director, who encouraged the students to work hard and excel in life. After the speech from Campus Director, Hon’ble Chairman graced the congregation with a few words. He welcomed the new students in their new life and encouraged them to achieve their highest potential.
Dr. Gurpreet Singh shared about the vision and efforts being done by Universal Group of Institutions in the field of Value Education. The program was concluded by Dr. Surina Sharma. Following the program, the new students reported to their respective departments to start the exciting new life of college learning.
